Your pet's records
stay between you two.
Mostly.

This is the Privacy Policy for PawDose, the pet medication tracker. It explains — in plain language first, then in full — exactly what we collect, why, and how you can delete it whenever you want.

01 — Philosophy

Privacy-first, offline-first.

PawDose is built to work fully on your device. Cloud sync is something you switch on — never something that happens quietly in the background.

Your pet's medication schedule, dosage history, vet visits and vaccination records are stored in an encrypted database on your phone by default. Nothing about your pet's health leaves the device unless you explicitly sign in and enable cloud backup. This policy covers the small amount of account, diagnostic and advertising data the app does handle, and exactly which of it is optional.

02 — Data categories

What information PawDose handles

We group everything the app touches into five categories. Most of it never leaves your device.

Account information

Name, email address, and an encrypted password — or a Google identity token if you sign in with Google. Used only to identify your account and, if enabled, to sync your data across devices.

OptionalNot shared with ads

Pet & health records

Pet name, species, breed, weight, medication names, dosages, schedules, dose history, vet visit notes and vaccination records — the actual content that makes the app useful.

Encrypted at restNever used for ads

Photos you attach

Optional photos of your pet, a medication label, or a vaccination certificate — picked from your gallery or camera. Stored in the app's private storage, not scanned or analysed.

OptionalDeleted with the record

Diagnostics & advertising

If you consent, anonymised crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) and an advertising identifier (Google AdMob) are used to fix bugs and show ads that help keep the app free.

Consent requiredOff by default

Purchase information

If you buy a premium plan, Google Play Billing handles the transaction. We only receive a purchase token and plan type — never your card details.

Handled by Google Play

Biometrics & app lock

If you enable fingerprint/face unlock, the scan is processed entirely by Android's own secure hardware. PawDose never sees or stores your biometric data — only a pass/fail result.

03 — Purpose

How this information is used

Every piece of data we handle maps to a specific feature. Nothing is collected "just in case."

01

Reminders that actually fire

Medication schedules are used locally to trigger notifications and alarms at the right time — even if you're offline.

02

Cross-device continuity

If you sign in and enable backup, your records sync to your account so a new phone doesn't mean starting over.

03

Reports for the vet

Dose history is compiled into CSV/PDF reports you generate and share yourself — we don't send these anywhere automatically.

04

Keeping the app stable

Crash data (only with consent) helps us find and fix bugs before they affect more pet parents.

05

Supporting a free app

Advertising identifiers (only with consent) let ad partners show relevant, non-intrusive ads instead of random ones.

06

Account & purchase security

Your login and purchase tokens are used solely to confirm who you are and what you've unlocked.

04 — Protection

How your data is protected

Health information deserves clinical-grade handling, even for the four-legged kind.

AES-256 ENCRYPTION
Your local database is encrypted end-to-end using SQLCipher, with the encryption key generated and sealed inside your device's hardware-backed Android Keystore — a key that never leaves your phone.
PASSWORD HASHING
App-lock PINs are hashed with PBKDF2 and a unique random salt. We never store your PIN or password in readable form, and we can't retrieve it either.
ENCRYPTED IN TRANSIT
Any data that does sync to the cloud travels over TLS-encrypted connections to Google Firebase and is protected by per-account access rules — your records are visible only to your signed-in account.
CONSENT-GATED ANALYTICS
Crash reporting is switched off until you explicitly consent through our privacy prompt, in line with GDPR and Google Play's user-choice requirements.
LOCAL BACKUP EXCLUSION
Your medication database and app-lock credentials are deliberately excluded from Android's automatic cloud backup, so they're never silently restored onto a device you haven't unlocked yourself.
05 — On your device

Permissions PawDose asks for

Android requires apps to declare permissions up front. Here's what each one is actually for — and none of them are used to track you.

NOTIFICATIONS
So we can show you a dose reminder when it's time to give your pet their medication.
EXACT ALARMS
So reminders fire at the precise minute you scheduled, not "sometime around" it.
RUN AT DEVICE STARTUP
So your reminders survive a phone restart instead of silently disappearing.
STORAGE (older Android only)
So exported CSV/PDF reports can be saved to your Downloads folder on Android 9 and below.
BIOMETRIC HARDWARE
Only used if you turn on fingerprint/face app-lock — processed entirely on-device.
INTERNET
Needed for optional sign-in, cloud backup, ads, and purchase verification — all separately controllable.
06 — Who else is involved

Third-party services we rely on

We don't sell data to anyone. The services below are infrastructure partners that power specific features, each bound by their own privacy and security standards.

07 — Your control

Your rights, and how to use them

Every control described here already exists in the app — Settings → Privacy — no email required, though we're glad to help either way.

Export your records

Generate a CSV or PDF of your dose history any time, for your own records or your vet.

Withdraw ad & analytics consent

Revisit the consent prompt at any time to turn off Crashlytics or personalised ads.

Delete your account

One tap permanently deletes your account and every associated record from our cloud servers.

Stay fully offline

Skip sign-in entirely — the app is fully functional with everything kept only on your device.

Uninstall to erase

Uninstalling the app removes the encrypted local database completely — nothing lingers behind.

Ask us directly

Request a copy or deletion of anything you believe we still hold, at the email below.

08 — Deletion

How to delete your PawDose account

PawDose lets you permanently delete your account and all associated cloud data directly from the app — no email or waiting period required.

STEP 1
Open PawDose and sign in to the account you want to delete.
STEP 2
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
STEP 3
Confirm the deletion when prompted. This is permanent and cannot be undone.
WHAT'S DELETED
Your account credentials, and every pet, medication, dose history, vet visit and vaccination record synced to our cloud servers (Firebase) are deleted immediately upon confirmation.
WHAT'S RETAINED
Nothing is retained on our servers after account deletion. Data stored only on your device is removed when you uninstall the app. We may keep anonymised crash logs (if you consented to Crashlytics) that contain no identifying information, for up to 90 days.
NO ACCOUNT? NO PROBLEM
If you used PawDose without signing in, all your data lives only on your device — simply uninstall the app to erase it completely.
NEED HELP
Can't access the app? Email lunexisstudio.support@gmail.com from your registered email address and we'll delete your account and data within 7 days.
09 — Age

Children's privacy

PawDose is designed for pet owners and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll remove it promptly.

10 — Updates

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you inside the app before they take effect. We encourage checking back periodically.
