01Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how StreakFit ("the app", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the app. StreakFit is a gym-attendance streak tracker — it does not log workouts or health metrics, only whether and when you checked in.
By creating an account or using StreakFit, you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
The short version: we collect only what's needed to run your streak, verify gym check-ins, keep your data synced across devices, and show ads that keep the app free. We never sell your personal data.
02Information we collect
Everything below is collected either because you actively provide it, or because a feature you turned on needs it to function.
| Category | What it includes | Collected when |
|---|---|---|
| Account information | Name, email address, and a Firebase-generated user ID. If you sign in with Google, we receive the name, email, and profile photo associated with your Google account, via Google's own sign-in flow — we never see your Google password. | When you sign up or sign in |
| Check-in & streak data | Timestamps of each gym check-in, your current and best streak counts, Streak Freeze token balance, and optional notes you attach to a check-in. | Every time you check in |
| Gym location | The coordinates of a location you save as "your gym," and — only if you turn on GPS verification — your device's location at the moment you check in, used to confirm you're nearby. | Only if you enable GPS check-in verification |
| Biometric data | If you enable App Lock, your device's fingerprint/face data is used to unlock the app. This is handled entirely by Android's own Biometric API — it stays on your device and is never sent to us or stored on our servers. | Only if you enable App Lock |
| Purchase information | Whether you've purchased Premium or the ad-free pass, handled through Google Play Billing. We receive purchase confirmation and entitlement status only — never your card number or payment details. | When you make a purchase |
| Device & advertising identifiers | Your device's advertising ID and general app-usage signals, used by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads. | While using free (ad-supported) parts of the app |
| Diagnostic data | Basic technical logs (app version, device type, crash reports) used to keep the app stable. | Automatically, during app use |
03Location data
Location access in StreakFit exists for one purpose only: letting you confirm you're actually at the gym when you check in. It's entirely optional.
- Off by default. If you never turn on GPS verification in Settings, your location is never accessed.
- On-demand only. When enabled, your location is read at the moment you tap "check in" — not continuously or in the background.
- Used locally first. The distance between you and your saved gym location is calculated on your device. Only the check-in result (verified or not) is stored — not a continuous location trail.
- You can disable GPS verification at any time from Settings, or override a check-in manually if you're not near your saved location.
04How we use your data
- To run the core app — calculating your streak, saving check-in history, syncing data across your devices.
- To send reminders — daily check-in nudges, streak-risk alerts, and workout-time notifications, all based on schedules you set yourself.
- To process purchases — activating Premium or ad-free status through Google Play Billing.
- To serve and measure ads — for accounts on the free tier, using Google AdMob.
- To keep the app secure and working — detecting bugs, preventing abuse, and maintaining Firestore's per-account data rules.
We do not use your check-in or location data to build an advertising profile, and we do not sell any personal data to third parties.
05Third-party services
StreakFit is built on a small number of well-known infrastructure providers. Each only receives the data described above that's necessary for its function.
Google Firebase (Authentication & Firestore)
Handles account sign-in and stores your check-in and streak data in the cloud so it syncs across devices. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Google AdMob
Serves banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads in the free version of the app. See Google's Ads Privacy & Terms.
Google Play Billing
Processes Premium and ad-free purchases. Payment details are handled entirely by Google Play, per Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Sign-In
An optional way to create your account using your existing Google credentials, via Android's Credential Manager.
06Advertising & consent
If you're on the free tier, StreakFit shows ads through Google AdMob on the History and Stats screens, plus occasional interstitial ads. We ask for your consent before showing personalized ads; if you decline, you'll still see ads, but they won't be based on your personal interests or ad history.
You can change your ad personalization choice at any time from Settings, or remove ads entirely with a Premium or ad-free purchase.
08Retention & deletion
Your check-in history and account data are retained for as long as your account is active, so your streak history stays intact. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account.
Deleting your account permanently removes your check-in history, streak data, and profile information from our servers (Firestore) and from your device (local database), typically within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.
09Security
- Cloud data is protected by Firestore security rules that restrict every account to reading and writing only its own data.
- Sensitive local data (such as your biometric-lock preference) is encrypted using the Android Keystore.
- Biometric authentication is processed entirely on-device via Android's Biometric API and is never transmitted to us.
- All network traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
10Children's privacy
StreakFit is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
11Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR in the EU/UK and CCPA in California), you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information, directly in the app under Settings
- Delete your account and associated data, at any time
- Export your check-in history as a CSV file from the History screen
- Withdraw consent for personalized ads at any time
- Disable location access, notifications, or biometric lock individually from Settings
To exercise any of these rights beyond what's available in-app, contact us using the details below.
12International data transfers
Your information may be stored and processed on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States, through Google Cloud/Firebase infrastructure. Where required, we rely on standard contractual safeguards provided by our service providers for these transfers.
13Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in-app. Continuing to use StreakFit after a change means you accept the updated policy.
